Description

At present, a large number of methods are put into practical measurement of soil moisture. Among them, from view points of agricultural, engineering and environmental field survey, three methods are selected to compare respective availability for simple and quick measurement of soil moisture. They are microwave oven dry method, infrared drying method and glycerin extraction method. 8 specimens differing in physical properties are taken to the research, and analysis of time-moisture curves, estimated from experimental points of each drying process, shows the following results. 1. As microwave oven dry method is proven practically most convenient and inexpensive, the method is most suitable for simple and quick measurement of soil moisture. 2. Under the power source is unavailable condition, only glycerin extraction method is able to put to practical use. 3.Inlfrared drying method can be measured soil moisture with the most high accuracy among them.
