Description

The purpose of this study is to establish a regionalization of Kagawa Prefecture by applying cluster analysis to the results of the performance test for recommended cultivars of rice plant. Seven cultivars were tested for two years at eight regions; i. e. the diluviums, the autumn-declines, the western plains, the eastern hills, the western hills, the eastern plains, the middles and the islands. Data were recorded on the days to heading, ripening period, culm length, panicle length, panicle number per plant, plant height (maximum tiller number stage), tiller number per plant (maximum tiller number stage), grain yield, 1 l-weight and thousand-kernel-weight. In consequence of variance analysis three sources, cultivar, location and year, were highly significant for nine characters excluding grain yield. Cultivar×location and cultivar×year interaction were not significant for most of ten characters including gain yield. These results, therefore, suggested that significant varietal differences on adaptability were not found for those characters. However, the rank of the locations on performance may be variable every year as location×year interaction were highly significant for all of the characters. Eight regions were divided into two clusters by using cluster analysis. Four regions, the middles, the western hills, the eastern plains and the autumn-declines, belonged to cluster I. The remaining four regions, the western plains, the diluviums, the islands and the eastern hills, belonged to cluster II. Culm length and panicle number per plant were significantly higher and more in cluster I than in cluster II, respectively. Further, the days to heading and grain yield, though not significant, were shorter and more, respectively. Non significance was showed for ripening period, panicle length, plant height and thousand-kernel-weight. Therefore, rice plant may grow heigher and more tillers in cluster I, and lower and less tillers in cluster II.

香川県水稲奨励品種決定現地試験をもとにクラスター分析を適用し, 県内各地域間の類似性を明らかにしようとした. 本解析ほ洪積層, 秋落, 西部平担, 東部山間, 西部山間, 東部平担, 中間および島しょの8地域で7品種および系統を用いて2年間にわたり香川県が実施した試験成績を用いて行ったものである. 到穂日数, 登熟日数, 稈長, 穂長, 穂数, 草丈(最高分けつ期), 茎数(最高分けつ期), 玄米重1l重および1000粒重について品種・試験地・年次の三元配置分散分析を行い, 各要因の有意性を調べた. 玄米重以外の形質について品種, 試験地および年次間で有意性が認められた. 玄米重は試験地間でのみ有意であった. C×PおよびC×Yは玄米重をはじめほとんどの形質において有意でなく, 環境適応性に品種間差異がないことを示唆した. P×Yはいずれの形質についても有意であり, 試験地の生産力に関する相対的関係が年次により異なるようであった. クラスター分析により8地域を2群に区分した. 群 I は中間, 西部山間, 東部平担および秋落地域, 群 II は西部平担, 洪積層, 島しょおよび東部山間地域であった. 群 I では群 II より有意に稈長が長く, かつ穂数が多かった. また到穂日数も短く, 玄米重も多かったが有意でなかった. 他のおもな形質についても群間で差異はなかった. 以上の結果を併せ考えるならば, 群 I は長稈・多けつ地域, 群 II は短稈・少けつ地域と呼ぶことができよう.
