Description

It had been defined the 'nation-wide disaster' when the average value of index number of yields in rice plants all over the country is less than 94 percent. The author had investigated that how many times these disasters occurred during 1881-1980 and the characteristics of injury in rice cropping on the basis of climatic conditions. The nation-wide disasters of rice plant had occurred in 18 years such as 1883, 1884, 1889, …etc. The whole areas damaged are divided into four sections named as the cold summer area, the drought area, the heavy rain area and the area caused by other factors. The amount of injury in the cold summer area is the largest in those of other areas. The years of disaster are assorted with four types by chief causes of damage such as cold summer, drought, heavy rain and other factors. They are called the cold summer year type (7 years), the drought year type (4 yrs.), the heavy rain year type (4 yrs.) and the year type caused by other factors (3 yrs.). The average value of injury amounts in the years of cold summer type is the greatest in those of other three types.

水稲の作況指数(全国平均)が'94'以下の年次を""全国災害""と名づけ, この100年間における災害の発生状況を気象的要因によって解析し, 水稲被害の特性を明らかにした. ①全国災害は明治16年(1883)を皮切りに昭和55年(1980)まで18回発生した. ②被害の特に大きな年次は9か年を数え, 明治17年(1884), 同30年('97), 同38年(1905), 昭和6年('31), 同9年('34), 同16年('41), 同20年('45), 同28年('53)および同55年('80)である. ③気象的要因から, 全国の被害地域は凶冷地域, 干ばつ地域, 大雨地域および複合地域(気象要因以外)に区別され, 地域ごとの被害量は, 凶冷地域が群をぬいて多い. ④各災害年は, 主要な被害要因から凶冷型(7か年), 干ばつ型(4か年), 大雨型(4か年)および複合型(3か年)に類別でき, 凶冷型の年次における被害量が最大である.
