Description

In order to investigate the effect of light intensity on shatter of grapes, shading was done for 15 days from about 5 days before full bloom (shading I) and 15 days from 5 days after full bloom (shading II) using Neo Muscat grapes. Healthy vines were covered with cheese cloth receiving about 20% of natural light intensity. Shading I caused heavy shatter, was about a third part of one of berry set percentages of non-shading, produced more seedless berries and berries of I-2 seeds and reduced remarkably the development of berries. Refractometer index in the ripe berries was considerably high and acid content was slightly low, but the quality of the berries was slightly poor than non-shading. On the other, non-shading showed remarkably high berry set percentages and good berry development, and produced more berries of 3-4 seeds. In shading II, the berry set percentage, berry development, berry quality and seed number in berry showed middling of both shading I and non-shading. From the above investigation, it is considered that the heavy shatter in grapes is caused by a little sunshine in flowering period.

ブドウの花振るいにおよぼす日照の影響をみるために, Neo Muscatを満開約5日前より15日間(しゃ光I区)および満開2日後より15日間(しゃ光II区)しゃ光した. しゃ光I区は多数の花振いを生じて, 結実率は無しゃ光区の約3分の1に過ぎず, 果粒の肥大が緩慢であった. 成熟果の糖度は無しゃ光区より高, 酸量は逆にやや低で, 無種子または種子1?2ヶの小果粒が多かった. 無しゃ光区は花振いが少なく, 果粒の肥大が盛んで, 種子数3?4ヶの大果粒が多かった. しゃ光II区の花振い, 結実率, 果粒の肥大, 品質, 種子数は, しゃ光I区と無しゃ光区のほぼ中位であった. 満開10日後におけるしゃ光区の新梢の伸長は無しゃ光区よりやや盛んで, 葉内炭水化物量は相当に低かった. これらのことより, Neo Muscatのいちぢるしい花振いの主因は, 開花期における多雨・少日照によるものと思われる.
